Anna Magdalena Auzinger

Anna Magdalena Auzinger was born into a family of musicians (her father: Gustav Auzinger, organist; her mother, Lisa Funke, a pianist). Already in early childhood artistic advancement played an important role, and at the age of six she started studying the piano with Ranko Markovic at the Anton Bruckner Private University for Music, Drama and Dance in Linz/ Austria.

After the A-levels she continued her musical studies majoring in singing performance with William Mason and later Gerald Trabesinger. In 2008 she graduated with honours (Bachelor of Arts) and has since then been studying with Prof. Lydia Vierlinger at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Graduation with honours in 2012. Besides, she regularly attends master courses, e.g. with Barbara Bonney, Romina Basso, Roberta Invernizzi, Deborah York and Andrea Marcon.

Special highlights in her career as a singer have been her engagement in G. F. Händel’s opera “Alcina“ with the Capella Leopoldina at the theatre Manoel/ Valetta in Malta in March 2010, as well as working with famous ensembles and orchestras such as the „Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg“ (Salzburger Landestheater, “Die Zauberflöte, 1. Knabe), „Wiener Akademie“ and „Dolce Risonanza”. In 2012 she was engaged in Tristan Schulze’s opera “Premiere” at the Theater an der Wien, followed by a concert at the Musikverein Wien and the ORF Radiokulturhaus Wien. In 2013 she sang “Belinda” as well as the “1st Which” in Purcell’s “Dido & Aeneas” in a production of the festival STYRIARTE.

Anna Magdalena is winner of the Austria Barock Akademie Award (2010).

Anna Magdalena Auzinger studied dance and dance pedagogy at the Perform Dance Studio Vienna/ Linz from 2004 to 2007 and graduated with honours, the focus of her education being ballet, tap dance and jazz dance.
